MUSCAT : As weather conditions are set to worsen, officials have taken precautionary measures by shutting down the Al Amerat–Bousher Mountain Pass to minimise risks associated with heavy rains, including reduced visibility, slippery roads, and potential flash floods.
Motorists are advised to avoid the route until further notice and plan their journeys using designated alternative roads. Authorities have also emphasised the importance of adhering to preventive driving guidelines during rainfall, including maintaining safe speeds, keeping adequate distance between vehicles, and staying updated with official advisories.
