MUSCAT – Under Article 19 of the Regulation on the Rights of Beneficiaries of Telecom Services, licensees are required to provide international data roaming separately from international voice roaming and only upon the subscriber’s request.
Article 20 further requires that once a subscriber has fully used the data allowance included in their plan, the licensee must suspend both local and international data services. Users must be notified of the suspension, informed how to reactivate the service, and made aware of any costs if they continue data usage at rates outside their subscribed plan, or offered the option to subscribe to a new plan.
