TEHRAN : In an official statement, Iranian authorities acknowledged Larijani’s death, describing him as a key figure in the country’s leadership and a long-serving public servant.

Larijani, a former nuclear negotiator and senior political figure, played a prominent role in Iran’s strategic and security affairs. He was widely regarded as a close ally of the country’s top leadership and had held several influential positions over the years.

His death was first reported by Israel’s Defence Minister, who said Larijani had been killed amid ongoing military developments between the two sides. Iran has now confirmed the incident, though details surrounding the circumstances of the killing have not been fully disclosed.
