MUSCAT – Authorities in Oman’s South Al Sharqiyah Governorate have shut down a food establishment in the Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi after inspectors detected violations of public health requirements.
According to South Al Sharqiyah Municipality, the Food Control and Licensing Department carried out seven inspection visits to food establishments in the area as part of routine monitoring to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
During the inspections, officials recorded a health violation at one establishment, which resulted in the issuance of a formal violation notice and the closure of the outlet for failing to comply with health standards.

The municipality said the inspections form part of ongoing efforts to protect public health and ensure that food establishments adhere to approved hygiene and safety regulations.
Authorities reiterated that regular inspection campaigns will continue across the governorate and warned businesses to strictly follow municipal guidelines to avoid penalties, closures or legal action.
