MUSCAT: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the ongoing Class XII board examinations for students in several Middle Eastern countries, including Oman, citing the prevailing situation in the region.
In a circular issued on March 15, 2026, CBSE informed schools affiliated with the board in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE that all Class XII examinations scheduled between March 16 and April 10, 2026 stand cancelled.
The decision follows a review of the feasibility of conducting the examinations in the affected countries. CBSE said the assessment was carried out after receiving inputs and requests from schools and authorities in the region.
