MUSCAT – The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for Agriculture, who stressed the importance of ensuring smooth supply chains and maintaining the steady flow of goods to meet the needs of citizens and residents.
Officials highlighted the need to strengthen coordination with market stakeholders to support the stability of local markets during the festive period, when demand for food items typically rises.
The meeting also included a field tour of the market to review operational activities and daily supply movements, as well as to listen to feedback from traders regarding market conditions.
Representatives from several government bodies and organisations attended the meeting, including the Consumer Protection Authority, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, ASYAD Group, Oman Agriculture Development Company and the Omani Agricultural Association.
