TEHRAN : Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been appointed as Iran’s new supreme leader, according to reports from state media.
His appointment follows the death of his father, who led the Islamic Republic for more than three decades. The decision was made by Iran’s Assembly of Experts, the clerical body responsible for selecting the country’s highest authority.
