Exciting quarter-final matches conclude at PSC Ramadhan Cricket Tournament

Muscat: The excitement continues to build at the Ramadhan Cricket Tournament 2026, organized by the Pakistan Social Club (PSC) Oman in collaboration with Pakistan School Muscat, as cricket lovers gathered in large numbers to witness thrilling quarter-final matches played during the blessed evenings of Ramadhan.

The tournament has become one of the most vibrant community sporting events in Muscat, bringing together players and families while promoting sportsmanship, unity, and healthy competition within the Pakistani community.

Third Quarter-Final

The third quarter-final match was played between MRP and Horizon Restaurant Cosmos. Cosmos won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, MRP scored 54 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted overs. Waqas was the top scorer with 15 runs off 14 balls, including one four. In the bowling department, Naqash delivered an excellent spell, taking 3 wickets in his 2 overs for just 12 runs.

In reply, Horizon Restaurant Cosmos comfortably chased the target and won the match with 6 wickets in hand. Sanju contributed 13 runs off 9 balls with one boundary, while Fahad impressed with the ball by taking 2 wickets for 9 runs in 2 overs. Fahad was declared Man of the Match.

Exhibition Match

An entertaining Exhibition Match was also played between Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) and Pakistan Social Club (PSC) teams, which added further excitement to the evening.

After winning the toss, PSM elected to bat first and posted a strong total of 121 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, setting a target of 122 runs. Danish played a spectacular innings, scoring 36 runs in just 14 balls, smashing four sixes and three fours. In the bowling spell, Ammar took 2 wickets for 20 runs in his 2 overs.

In response, PSC made a determined effort to chase the target. Mohsin scored a quick 27 runs off 11 balls, including three sixes and two fours. John William also bowled well, taking 2 wickets for 10 runs in one over, but PSM secured victory by 18 runs. Danish was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding batting performance.

Fourth Quarter-Final

The fourth quarter-final match was played between Meerath Bousher and Mumtaz XI. After winning the toss, Mumtaz XI chose to bat first and scored 78 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, setting a target of 79 runs in 8 overs. Taimoor was the top scorer with 39 runs in 20 balls, including three sixes and two fours. Javaid took 2 wickets for 21 runs in his 2 overs.

In reply, Meerath Bousher chased the target in an impressive manner, reaching the total in just 5 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Wicketkeeper Azhar played a remarkable innings, scoring 38 runs in just 11 balls with five sixes and one four, while also taking three catches behind the stumps. Fahad contributed with the ball by taking 1 wicket for 6 runs in 2 overs. Azhar was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Organizer Kaleem Akhtar appreciated the enthusiasm of the teams and the strong support from the community. He stated that Pakistan Social Club Oman remains committed to promoting sports and community engagement, and events like the Ramadhan Cricket Tournament provide an excellent platform for bringing people together in a spirit of friendship, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The tournament now moves into its most exciting stage as two Semi-Final matches will be played on Monday, 9 March 2026:

First Semi-Final:
Horizon Restaurant vs Meerath Bousher

Second Semi-Final:
AR Roshni Blasters vs Asfandyar XI

Both matches are expected to attract a large number of spectators as the teams compete for a place in the Grand Final of the PSC Ramadhan Cricket Tournament 2026.
