IRGC claims ‘complete control’ of Strait of Hormuz, warns vessels of missile and drone risks

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared that it has ‘complete control’ over the Strait of Hormuz, warning that vessels transiting the strategic waterway risk damage from missiles or stray drones amid escalating regional conflict.

TEHRAN : In a statement carried by the Fars news agency, IRGC Navy official Mohammad Akbarzadeh said: “Currently, the Strait of Hormuz is under the complete control of the Islamic Republic’s Navy.”
The declaration comes as military tensions intensify across the region, raising fresh concerns over the security of one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints.
