WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump said he would cut off all trade relations with Spain and the United Kingdom over their stance on the war with Iran, while describing Germany’s position as “good”.

“I will cut all trade relations with Spain and Britain because of their position on the war with Iran,” Trump said, adding that Berlin had taken a more favourable approach.

Trump also claimed that U.S. operations in Iran had been successful, asserting that Iranian air defences and surveillance installations were no longer operational.

“We did a good job regarding the operations in Iran. Iran no longer has air defence or monitoring facilities,” he said.

He indicated that further military objectives remain before assessing the broader outcome of the conflict. “We will see what will happen in Iran, but first we have to eliminate the army,” Trump said.

On energy markets, Trump said he expects oil prices to fall immediately after the conclusion of the military operation in Iran.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, with markets closely watching developments for their impact on global trade and energy supplies.
