DUBAI – Authorities said scammers are targeting individuals to steal data linked to the UAE Pass and Emirates ID (EID), which could then be used to conduct SIM swap operations and gain unauthorised access to victims’ bank accounts through mobile banking applications.

Dubai Police stressed that sharing such confidential information would enable criminals to take control of phone numbers and compromise financial accounts, leading to potential monetary losses.

The force confirmed that it does not request confidential personal data, banking details, or verification codes via phone calls, text messages, or social media platforms under any circumstances.

Residents were urged not to share personal or financial information with any unverified party and to remain vigilant against suspicious communications.

Dubai Police called on the public to immediately report fraud attempts through official channels by calling 901 or via the eCrime platform dedicated to electronic crime reports.
