Kuwait: In a statement issued on Saturday, February 28, 2026, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attack as a “flagrant violation” of the country’s sovereignty, its airspace, and the principles of international law, including the Charter of the United Nations.
The Ministry said the assault, which targeted Kuwaiti territory earlier in the day, constituted a serious breach of national sovereignty and regional stability. It stressed that Kuwait reserves its “full and legitimate right” to defend itself in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
According to the statement, Kuwait will respond to what it termed “brazen aggression” in a manner proportionate to the scale and nature of the violation, and in line with international legal frameworks. The government also affirmed that it will take all necessary measures to safeguard its territory, protect its citizens and residents, and preserve national sovereignty, security and stability.

The Ministry further confirmed that Kuwaiti defence systems successfully repelled the attack in line with established operational procedures and existing rules of engagement.
