BAHRAIN : The US Embassy in Bahrain announced that all staff have been directed to shelter in place “until further notice,” recommending that American citizens in the country take similar precautions. The advisory follows a dramatic spike in tensions across the Middle East.
The developments come after Israel confirmed carrying out what it termed a pre-emptive strike against Iran. Multiple explosions were reported in Tehran, raising concerns of potential retaliation and further military escalation.
Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency, quoting a source in the presidential office, reported that President Masoud Pezeshkian remains unharmed amid the unfolding events.
