NEW DELHI : Adani Group has expressed strong interest in the return of F1 to the Buddh International Circuit, which last hosted the Indian Grand Prix from 2011 to 2013.

The circuit, located in Greater Noida, was once considered one of Asia’s most advanced racing venues and attracted worldwide attention during its brief stint on the F1 calendar.

However, due to tax disputes and logistical issues, it was removed from the championship calendar. Further discussions will reportedly focus on removing regulatory hurdles and upgrading infrastructure to meet current F1 standards, as stakeholders explore India’s potential return to the global motorsport stage. The return of the Indian Grand Prix will be a huge boost for motorsport fans in South Asia and will also strengthen India’s commitment to hosting world-class sporting events.

This track was previously dominated by Sebastian Vettel and is a historic attraction for auto racing fans. The move is in line with F1 Group’s commercial vision to strengthen its presence in Asia, given F1’s aggressive expansion into high-growth markets. If negotiations are successful, the return of F1 could bring India’s sports infrastructure back to the forefront of the world stage, with increased opportunities for international tourism and sponsorship.
