MUSCAT : The award recognises countries that demonstrate outstanding tourism initiatives and innovative experiences that appeal to the Spanish travel market. Oman was selected for its diverse tourism offerings, which combine historical heritage, cultural richness, and varied landscapes, alongside a strong commitment to sustainable tourism and authentic visitor experiences.
Oman’s tourism sector offers a wide range of experiences, including cultural and heritage tours, adventure activities, cruises, and leisure opportunities, catering to global travel trends and diverse visitor preferences.

Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said the award reflects Oman’s ability to meet Spanish tourists’ aspirations through innovative programs, enhanced promotional campaigns, and diversified tourism products. He added that the ministry aims to leverage global best practices, strengthen partnerships with airlines and travel agencies, and promote non-traditional tourism markets such as Spain to create an ideal environment for visitors.
In parallel, the ministry hosted a meeting with major Spanish tourism companies to explore strategic partnerships and cooperation opportunities. The meeting highlighted Oman’s heritage, cultural, and natural assets across its governorates, reinforcing the country’s position as a competitive and integrated tourist destination regionally and internationally.
The ministry emphasised that collaboration with tourism institutions is key to promoting Oman globally, attracting visitors, and enhancing sustainable tourism flows. These efforts demonstrate Oman’s commitment to developing its tourism sector according to high standards of quality and sustainability, offering authentic experiences that combine heritage, culture, and natural beauty to meet the expectations of international tourists.
