MUSCAT : The Center reported that the first tremor, classified as a minor earthquake, occurred at 2:19 a.m. local time. Measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, the quake’s epicentre was located approximately 263 kilometres southwest of Salalah, at a depth of about 35 kilometres.
A second, stronger earthquake was recorded at 4:27 a.m., with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale (mwp). The epicentre was situated around 245 kilometres southwest of Salalah, at a depth of 12 kilometres.
Shortly afterward, at 5:05 a.m., a third earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck the same region. The epicentre of this tremor was located approximately 209 kilometres southwest of Salalah, at a depth of 10 kilometres.
