MUSCAT : This warning comes within the framework of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to protect consumers from unsafe products.

The Authority clarified that the warning includes Xiaomi 33W 20000mAh (Integrated Cable) portable chargers, model PB2030MI, due to the potential risk of battery overheating, which may lead to a fire hazard.

As a precautionary measure, the Authority has urged consumers to verify whether their device’s serial number is included in the affected batch by checking the manufacturer’s official link. Consumers are also advised to immediately stop using the product if affected and to contact the company to return the charger and obtain a full refund.

The Consumer Protection Authority reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out its regulatory role through continuous monitoring of markets across the Sultanate of Oman to ensure they are free from the aforementioned products, thereby maintaining a safe consumer environment.

Additionally, the Authority called on consumers to exercise caution when purchasing products from online sales platforms and to ensure that all items comply with approved specifications and safety standards.
