Muscat Stock Exchange ends higher as foreign buying lifts market sentiment

The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) closed today on a positive note, with its benchmark “30” index registering gains and overall market value edging higher, despite a drop in trading activity.

MUSCAT : The MSX 30 index ended the session at 6,024.74 points, up 18.6 points or 0.31 per cent, compared to the previous close of 6,006.10 points. Trading activity moderated, with total turnover reaching RO 56.16 million, a 10 per cent decline from the previous session’s RO 62.43 million.

According to a report issued by the Muscat Stock Exchange, the market’s total value rose by 0.141 per cent, reaching approximately RO 32.63 billion, reflecting continued investor confidence.

Foreign investor activity remained positive, with non-Omanis’ purchases amounting to RO 5.11 million, representing 9.10 per cent of total trades. In comparison, non-Omanis’ sales stood at RO 2.15 million, or 3.83 per cent. As a result, net non-Omani investment increased by RO 2.96 million, accounting for 5.27 per cent, underlining sustained foreign interest in the local market.
