Dubai: Enrique claimed the top coaching honour after leading PSG to an unprecedented six titles in a single year, completing a domestic treble of the French league, French Cup and French Super Cup, and adding continental and global silverware with the club’s first-ever UEFA Champions League, the European Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

PSG’s dominance was further underlined as French international Ousmane Dembele was named Best Player in the World 2025. Dembele completed a rare individual treble, having already secured the Ballon d’Or from France Football and the FIFA The Best award earlier this year.

Portuguese midfielder Vitinha added to the Parisian sweep by winning Best Midfielder in the World, edging out several high-profile contenders including Barcelona’s Pedri. Vitinha played a central role in PSG’s historic sextuple and also enjoyed international success, helping Portugal qualify for the World Cup and lift the UEFA Nations League title after defeating Spain in the final.

In Spain, FC Barcelona dominated the league awards. The Catalan giants were named Best Club in the Spanish League, while German tactician Hansi Flick won Best Coach and Brazilian winger Raphinha claimed Best Player. Barcelona secured the domestic treble, La Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup, in Flick’s debut season at the helm.

Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, 18, was awarded Best Young Player Under 23 in the Spanish League, receiving the prestigious “Maradona” award. Of Moroccan origin, Yamal was instrumental in Barcelona’s treble-winning campaign and helped the club reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2019. At international level, he earned a silver medal with Spain at the UEFA Nations League, finishing runners-up to Portugal.

Meanwhile, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, currently starring for Al-Nassr, was named Best Player in the Middle East 2025. Ronaldo edged out Riyad Mahrez of Al-Ahli Jeddah and Karim Benzema of Al-Ittihad Jeddah, with the award recognising his UEFA Nations League triumph with Portugal, who also received the Best National Team honour on the night.

The ceremony in Dubai celebrated a landmark year across club and international football, with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona emerging as the standout forces of the 2025 season.
