New York: During a session of the UN Security Council, the United Nations endorsed the initiative aimed at preserving the unity of Sudan and protecting its territorial integrity.

In a statement issued by the UN spokesperson’s office, the Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged all parties in Sudan to agree to an immediate cessation of hostilities. He emphasized the need to prioritize consensus-building and the development of a shared vision that leads to a civilian-led transition.
