Muscat: According to figures released by Credit Oman, the insured industrial portfolio covers a wide range of manufacturing activities. Iron and steel industries accounted for the largest share, with insured sales valued at RO 79 million, followed by oil and grease industries at RO 64.6 million. Food industries, including meat and poultry, recorded insured sales of RO 33.1 million, while the manufacture of refined petroleum products reached RO 24 million.

Industries related to cleaning tools registered an insured value of RO 17.3 million, while the manufacture of plastic construction equipment amounted to approximately RO 7.4 million.

Commenting on the performance, Haitham bin Abdullah Al Yaqoubi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Credit Oman, said the company is focused on increasing the volume of Omani non-oil exports by expanding insurance coverage for local manufacturers, exporters and sellers.

He explained that Credit Oman’s role extends beyond insurance services to include providing advisory support and helping exporters identify buyers, with the aim of strengthening and promoting Omani products in international markets. He added that these efforts contribute to expanding Oman’s foreign trade prospects, enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, and reinforcing confidence between exporters and importers by reducing risks associated with international trade operations.
