MUSCAT — The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organise a series of workshops across all governorates to explain the provisions of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with India, its chairman said.

His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OCCI, said the workshops will be held in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Invest Oman to help the private sector better understand the agreement and benefit from the opportunities it offers.

Al Rawas said the initiative aims to clarify the agreement’s clauses, address questions from business owners and investors, and support companies in leveraging new market access created under the CEPA.

He was speaking while responding to questions from journalists during a media interaction held to discuss the Oman–India trade agreement, which is expected to expand bilateral trade, boost investment flows and enhance the competitiveness of Omani exports.

The outreach programme forms part of broader efforts by public and private sector institutions to ensure that businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, are well prepared to take advantage of the agreement and navigate its regulatory and commercial frameworks.

Oman and India signed the CEPA to deepen economic cooperation, open new export markets and strengthen long-term trade and investment ties between the two countries.
