MUSCAT : This took place during a meeting between Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of OPAZ, and Lt. Gen Eng. Kamel abdulhadi Al Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport of Egypt.
The meeting focused on several strategic pillars aimed at enhancing bilateral investment, including exploring potential projects in special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities in both countries. It also reviewed means of utilising existing raw materials and production chains within factories located in these zones to increase the added value of products, and exchanging technical knowledge to enhance the attractiveness of these zones for international and regional investors.


The meeting also discussed mechanisms to facilitate the movement of products and industries between Oman and Egypt’s economic and industrial zones to boost trade volumes.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination to explore partnership opportunities that strengthen economic ties. The talks highlighted the role of free zones as vital hubs for regional trade, aligning with the industrial development goals of both nations.
The meeting was attended by Yassir Mohammed Ahmed Shaban, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman, along with several officials from both sides.
