Riyadh: Napoli secured their third Super Cup crown, after previous triumphs in 1990 and 2014, thanks to a clinical brace from Neres in the 39th and 57th minutes, sealing a comfortable victory for coach Antonio Conte’s side in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

The triumph adds to Napoli’s recent domestic success, following Italian league titles in 2023 and 2025, and their Italian Cup win in 2020. The match marked the 38th edition of the Italian Super Cup, staged for the fourth consecutive year, and the sixth time overall, in Saudi Arabia.

For Bologna, the defeat extended a difficult run in finals for their coach Vincenzo Italiano, who previously lost Conference League finals with Fiorentina in 2023 against West Ham United and in 2024 against Olympiacos, as well as the 2023 Italian Cup final to Inter.

However, Italiano had guided Bologna to domestic cup success last year with a victory over AC Milan, earning them a place in this season’s Super Cup. The tournament was held for the third straight time under its new format, featuring league champions Napoli, runners-up Inter, and the domestic cup finalists.
