MUSCAT : Ahmed bin Salmeen Al-Kamshki, member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber’s North Al Batinah branch, said the seminar aimed to highlight SMEs as a key driver of economic growth, a generator of employment for national talent, and a catalyst for innovation. He explained that the event served as an interactive platform bringing together entrepreneurs and SME owners from the North Al Batinah Governorate with government and private institutions that provide funding and advisory support.
Al-Kamshki noted that the discussions were designed to create a balanced understanding of roles and responsibilities among stakeholders, identify challenges faced by enterprises, and propose practical solutions that enhance sustainability and long-term growth of SMEs and startups, thereby supporting the wider national economy.
The seminar featured dialogue sessions addressing the contribution of SMEs to economic development, the role of artificial intelligence in empowering enterprises, and ways to strengthen entrepreneurial capabilities in project management, financing procedures and startup development, particularly in the context of ongoing digital transformation.

The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Busaidi, Governor of Sohar, and was attended by Engineer Saeed bin Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber’s North Al Batinah branch, along with representatives from several government and private entities involved in supporting and financing SME projects.
