Dubai: Driving the Ferrari 296 GT3 in its debut outing with the Omani Al Manar Racing Team, Al Zubair teamed up with British drivers Chris Froggate and Ben Tuck, in collaboration with the Dragon Team. The trio delivered a dominant drive for much of the race and were firmly in contention for victory in the fifteenth edition of the event.

The Al Manar Racing Team led the field at the end of the first eight-hour leg, but a sudden pit stop to resolve a brake issue, combined with a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane, proved costly. With less than two hours remaining, the setback pushed the team down to second place, where they ultimately finished.

Reflecting on the result, Al Zubair said second place was a positive outcome in his first race with Ferrari, noting that the team was the fastest for most of the event. He explained that a brake fluid leak forced an unscheduled stop, impacting the final result, and stressed that endurance racing demands sustained pressure and high levels of concentration throughout.

The Al Manar Racing Team is set to continue its endurance racing campaign next month, with its sights now on the Michelin Dubai 24 Hours, scheduled to take place from January 16 to 18.
