MUSCAT : The approved projects are set to be developed on a combined area exceeding 92,000 square metres, reinforcing Nizwa Industrial City’s growing role as a key industrial hub in the Sultanate.

The total number of projects operating in the industrial city has now reached 190, with cumulative investments surpassing RO 514 million. These projects employ more than 6,100 workers, with Omanization rates exceeding 45 per cent. The overall area of Nizwa Industrial City spans 7.2 million square metres.

Engineer Ishaq bin Ibrahim Al-Kharousi, Acting Director General of Nizwa Industrial City, said Madayn continues to implement several strategic projects within the estate. He noted that the Madayn Pioneer Complex, being developed in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, has achieved a completion rate of over 80 per cent by the end of the first half of 2025.

The RO 1.2 million project includes the construction of 10 workshops dedicated to supporting small and medium enterprises. Al-Kharousi added that consultancy studies for the residential area project have been tendered, alongside general maintenance works for existing facilities. He also confirmed that the master plan for the fifth development phase, covering an area of four million square metres, has been completed.

Looking ahead, Nizwa Industrial City is preparing to launch several new factories across sectors including medical and food supplies, oil and gas, and iron fabrication. The city is also strengthening its focus on environmental sustainability by expanding green spaces in cooperation with the Environment Authority, encouraging the use of solar energy to reduce electricity consumption, and localising recycling projects for aluminium and copper.
