MUSCAT : The municipality has issued a set of guidelines to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and environmentally responsible camping season across the Muscat Governorate.
The municipality urged campers to follow safety measures, keep camping sites clean, and respect the natural environment so that everyone can enjoy a pleasant and responsible outdoor experience.


Below is an overview of the key camping guidelines announced by the Municipality:
Camping Site & Safety Requirements
• Camp only in designated areas after obtaining the required permit.
• Maintain a minimum distance of 10 meters from the shoreline and 5 meters between campsites.
• Stay clear of fishing zones and security-restricted areas
• Ensure safety equipment is available
• Avoid using lasers or lights directed upwards
• Fencing, if used, must be made of safe materials and must not obstruct visibility.
General Camping Guidelines
• Clearly display the permit number on the caravan, tent, or seating area.
• The use of concrete or construction materials is strictly prohibited.
• Permit holders may not transfer their licence to others or use it outside the designated camping site.
• Heavy machinery must not be used to level or prepare the camping area.
• Only soundproof generators are permitted; noisy generators are not allowed.
