MUSCAT : The initiative, launched in cooperation with Parent Councils in the Wilayat of Sur, will run until April 2026 as part of efforts to support the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly those focused on empowering students and strengthening community partnership.
The competition targets Parent Councils and students in grades 5–8 across schools in Sur. Participants are encouraged to present innovative initiatives and ideas related to rationalizing consumption and promoting conscious consumer behaviour. Organisers expect the competition to yield practical solutions to everyday challenges associated with household consumption, while reinforcing responsible habits among students and community members.
The initiative also seeks to enhance the role of schools and parents in guiding children toward sound economic practices, in addition to developing students’ creativity and innovation skills in addressing daily consumer issues. These efforts ultimately aim to help build a generation capable of making informed and responsible consumption decisions.
The CPA emphasised that the competition marks a significant step toward promoting awareness of responsible consumption and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and the community, in alignment with Oman Vision 2040’s aspirations for building an aware, responsible, and active society.
