MUSCAT : According to the latest Numbeo report, the world’s largest crowd-sourced database for evaluating living conditions, Oman secured the highest regional score at 215.1 points, outperforming all Gulf Cooperation Council and Middle Eastern countries. Qatar followed in second place with 189.4 points, while the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia ranked third and fourth with 174.2 and 173.7 points respectively.
Unlike traditional indices that rely heavily on official statistics, Numbeo places significant weight on public perception and day-to-day experiences shared by residents. Participants assess a range of key factors including safety and security, cost of living relative to income, quality of healthcare services, environmental and climate conditions, traffic levels, infrastructure strength, and pollution rates.
