MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has extended his deepest condolences to the family of the late Younis bin Mohammed Al-Hassani, following the heartbreaking incident in Al Amerat that claimed the lives of six family members.
In a message conveyed by His Excellency Saud bin Hilal Al-Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, His Majesty expressed his profound sympathy to the bereaved family, praying that Allah grants the deceased His vast mercy and forgiveness, and blesses their loved ones with patience and solace.
According to the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the tragedy occurred in the Al Atkiyah area of Al Amerat, where a husband, wife and their four children were found dead after reportedly inhaling carbon monoxide while asleep. Initial investigations suggest the family may have been exposed to a gas leak during the night. Authorities confirmed that investigations remain ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.
