MUSCAT : Located in Seeb, the newly inaugurated Al Irfan Mosque stands as a striking addition to the spiritual and architectural landscape of the city. Designed in a modern Islamic style, the mosque seamlessly combines aesthetic beauty with functionality, emphasizing comfort, safety, and accessibility across its two floors.
Engineer Nasser bin Rashid Al-Shibli, the mosque’s agent, told the Oman News Agency that the main prayer hall on the ground floor can accommodate around 1,500 worshippers. The open-plan design ensures natural ventilation and abundant light, while a grand circular dome serves as the architectural centerpiece. The ground floor also houses a security control room overseeing all entry and exit points, along with a public library offering space for educational and cultural activities.

The first floor includes a women’s prayer hall for approximately 50 worshippers, overlooking the main prayer area to maintain visual connection during services. A Quran memorization school for young learners is also located on the upper level, equipped with modern educational facilities.
