MUSCAT – According to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, the alert is in effect from 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025. The phenomenon is classified as moderate in intensity and likely to occur.

The alert warns of reduced horizontal visibility, ranging between 500 and 1,000 meters, due to the concentration of dust particles over the affected areas. These conditions may pose health risks to sensitive groups, particularly individuals with respiratory or cardiac conditions.

Motorists are also advised to remain cautious, as the dust flow could cause reduced visibility on both main and secondary roads, potentially leading to traffic disruptions.

The Oman Meteorology Department has urged residents to take precautionary measures during the alert period:
• Individuals with respiratory or heart conditions are advised to limit outdoor exposure.
• If going outdoors is necessary, wearing a protective mask is recommended to reduce inhalation of dust particles.
• Drivers should exercise extra caution, maintain safe distances, and use headlights where visibility is poor.
