Doha: His appeal came during the opening session of the Second World Summit for Social Development held in Doha today.

His Highness Sheikh Tamim condemned the devastating humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip, urging the world to unite in confronting the catastrophic consequences of Israeli aggression. He called for immediate and sustained support to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, stressing that silence and inaction are no longer acceptable in the face of such devastation.

Turning his attention to Sudan, the Emir expressed deep concern over the escalating violence in El Fasher and across the country. “The time has come to stop the war in Sudan and reach a political solution that guarantees the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan,” he stated, emphasizing the urgent need for a peaceful resolution.

Highlighting the core theme of the summit, Sheikh Tamim underlined that “social development in societies cannot be achieved without peace and stability.” He noted that global challenges such as poverty and unemployment demand “effective cooperation and solidarity” among nations, and that the summit serves as a vital platform to renew collective commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter.
