MUSCAT – In a statement issued online, the Minister highlighted radical transformations in the health sector for a sustainable future.
The statement reads as follows: “Today, we stand on the threshold of a new phase, reviewing the achievements of our health sector over the past five years. The priority of health has never been merely a matter of reports and statistics; it has always been, and remains, a story that touches all our hearts, telling us that Oman Vision 2040 is the compass that has guided our collective efforts.
“During this period, the health sector has witnessed qualitative transformations and exceptional achievements. Our country’s health system proved its high efficiency after the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world. The journey of building and development continued, encompassing the construction of numerous leading hospitals, the expansion of infrastructure, the training of healthcare professionals, and the localisation of many advanced health services, such as organ transplantation.

“Many initiatives were implemented to reduce waiting lists for medical appointments, and in a race against time, artificial intelligence and all modern technologies were employed to serve patients and improve the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.”
The Minister also underscored efforts to ensure pharmaceutical security and a sustainable health system through investments in local pharmaceutical and medical industries, the creation of strategic reserves, and strengthened sector readiness. He credited these achievements to a unified national will and active community partnership, emphasizing that “health is everyone’s responsibility.”
Concluding his statement, the Minister called for continued progress, inspired by Oman Vision 2040, aiming to establish a healthcare system that meets global standards and secures a healthy future for generations to come.
