SALALAH : The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced a temporary closure of sections of the main coastal road in Dhofar Governorate on Saturday, October 25, 2025, to facilitate the Ironman Salalah international triathlon.
According to the ROP Directorate of Public Relations and Security Media, traffic movement will be partially suspended along the Salalah–Taqah–Mirbat route from early morning until the conclusion of the cycling leg of the event.
The 90-kilometre cycling course will begin near the entrance of the Hawana Salalah resort, proceed through the Taqah and Mirbat areas, and return along the same route to the starting point. The Police urged motorists to follow alternative routes and comply with officers’ instructions to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.

The Ironman Salalah event, one of the global Ironman 70.3 series, is expected to attract local and international athletes, adding to Dhofar’s reputation as a premier sports and tourism destination.
