CAA confirms tropical depression over Arabian Sea, Oman to not be affected

The Civil Aviation Authority’s National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center has issued a weather update confirming the formation of a tropical depression in the Arabian Sea.

MUSCAT : According to the weather report released at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025, satellite images and meteorological analysis indicate that the tropical depression is located south of the Arabian Sea at longitude 68.4°E and latitude 15.1°N. The system is accompanied by surface wind speeds estimated between 20 to 27 knots (38 to 50 km/h).

The tropical system is projected to continue moving in a west to northwest direction. Experts at the Early Warning Center have confirmed that there will be no direct impact on Oman. However, sea conditions along the Arabian Sea coastlines are expected to range from slight to moderate, with wave heights reaching between 1 and 2 meters.
