MUSCAT : During the meeting, President Erdogan expressed his sincere gratitude to His Majesty for the warm reception and generous hospitality extended to him and his delegation, highlighting the strength of the deep-rooted historical relations and brotherly bonds between Oman and Turkey.
President Erdogan noted that His Majesty’s visit to Turkey in November 2024 marked a significant milestone in enhancing bilateral relations. He expressed hope that his current visit to Oman will further consolidate cooperation and open wide-ranging prospects across various sectors.
The two leaders engaged in candid and friendly consultations during a private meeting, exchanging views on the Palestinian issue as well as current regional and international developments, noting the alignment of their perspectives.
President Erdogan emphasised the joint efforts of both countries to strengthen humanitarian and cultural ties between their peoples. He announced Turkey’s decision to exempt Omani citizens from entry visa requirements, welcoming Oman’s reciprocal exemption of Turkish citizens, which is expected to boost cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism.
Additionally, President Erdogan expressed his appreciation for Oman’s support of the Yunus Emre Institute’s activities in Muscat and highlighted the upcoming opening of the Turkish Maarif Foundation school in 2028, which aims to deepen the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the two nations.
