MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik reaffirmed Oman’s deep and growing ties with the Republic of Turkey, describing the relationship as a “new bright chapter of strategic partnership” that continues to expand across trade, investment, and diplomacy.

Speaking during his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, His Majesty said:

“Your Excellency, your visit comes as a continuation of the constructive dialogue and consultations we held with you during our visit to Ankara last November, expressing our feelings of great comfort and satisfaction with the consultations we conducted and the strategic partnership for which we launched a new bright chapter during that visit.”

His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the steady growth of trade and investment relations between the two nations, reflected in the rise in bilateral trade volume and the launch of the joint investment fund. He expressed hope that the shared vision to raise trade exchange between the two countries to USD 5 billion in the coming years would soon be realized.

The Sultan also noted that the cancellation of entry visas for Turkish citizens to the Sultanate of Oman will further boost tourism and business travel, enhancing opportunities for Turkish investors and entrepreneurs.

Calling upon all public and private sector entities in both nations, His Majesty urged them to “continue working and exploring partnership opportunities, and to empower businesspeople to benefit from promising commercial and investment prospects — in a way that brings benefit, safety, and prosperity to both nations.”

Underscoring the strength of bilateral cooperation, His Majesty described Omani–Turkish relations as “a vibrant model of fruitful partnership,” noting that Turkish companies have played a “pioneering role in supporting infrastructure and development projects” in Oman, while Omani investments in Turkey “reflect firm confidence in the strength of the Turkish economy.”

Looking ahead, His Majesty said the two sides view with optimism the promising prospects for cooperation in manufacturing, defense industries, logistics, tourism, and technology, all of which contribute to economic diversification.

He also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between educational and research institutions in areas such as technology, healthcare, and food security, alongside continued cultural collaboration “to enrich knowledge and foster civilizational convergence among peoples.”

On regional affairs, His Majesty reaffirmed the shared commitment of Oman and Turkey to supporting peace and stability across the region. He praised Ankara’s efforts to enhance regional cooperation and lauded President Erdoğan’s “sincere role in halting the war of genocide launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip,” noting that these efforts culminated in a ceasefire agreement in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

His Majesty concluded by affirming Oman’s unwavering commitment to “achieving a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and international law.”
