MUSCAT : Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has presented His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik with a Turkish-made Togg electric vehicle during his state visit to Oman, in a gesture underscoring the growing ties between the two nations.
The Togg, Turkey’s first domestically produced electric car, takes its name from the initials of Türkiye’nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu — “Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group.” Its diamond-shaped logo, formed by two converging arrows, symbolizes the meeting of Eastern and Western cultures and the connection between technology and people.
The gift to Sultan Haitham reflects Ankara’s intent to deepen cooperation with Muscat while showcasing Turkey’s emerging role in electric vehicle innovation.
