Oman and Botswana establish diplomatic relations

The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Botswana signed a joint statement on establishing diplomatic relations based on cooperation and friendship between them.

NEW YORK – The statement was signed in New York by His Excellency Ambassador Omar bin Said Al Kathiri, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations, and by His Excellency Ambassador Charles Masole, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Botswana to the United Nations.

His Excellency Said Al Kathiri affirmed that the signing of the joint statement stems from the interest the governments of the two countries attach to establishing diplomatic relations. He added that it lays the foundation for strengthening joint dialogue and opening up horizons of cooperation that serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

His Excellency Masole indicated that his country’s government looks forward to enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
