Sharm El Sheikh — Three Qatari diplomats were killed and two others injured in a tragic road accident in Egypt on Sunday, just days before the start of the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El Sheikh.
According to Egyptian authorities, the accident occurred when the vehicle carrying the diplomats veered off the road on its way to the Red Sea resort city. The car reportedly lost control before overturning. An Egyptian driver was also among those injured.
The Qatari Embassy in Cairo confirmed the fatalities, expressing deep sorrow and extending condolences to the families of the victims. The two injured diplomats are being treated at Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable.

In a statement, the embassy said arrangements are being made to repatriate the bodies to Doha later Sunday.
The delegation had been in Egypt ahead of a high-level Gaza Peace Summit, which will bring together regional and international leaders to push for a lasting ceasefire and humanitarian relief in Gaza.
Qatar has played a key role in mediation efforts alongside Egypt and the United States, facilitating negotiations between Israel and Palestinian representatives to de-escalate the ongoing conflict.
