MUSCAT – Affirming its commitment to active participation in supporting various initiatives that contribute to enhancing the local economy, Bank Muscat has announced a partnership with the Office of the Governor of Musandam to support the upcoming Musandam Winter Season 2025/2026, scheduled to begin in November and run for six months.

The announcement took place during the promotional ceremony announcing the fourth edition of Musandam Winter Season 2025/2026 held at W Muscat hotel under the theme “Partnership”. The event witnessed the announcement of several partnerships with various institutions, reflecting the importance of concerted efforts among all stakeholders to deliver a sustainable tourism product that highlights Musandam’s uniqueness and adds value to the national economy. Musandam Winter Season 2025/2026 is a promising tourism initiative that will feature more than 60 diverse events across the governorate’s four wilayats, in addition to Limah and Kumzar villages, with the aim of strengthening Musandam’s position on the regional and global tourism map.

On this occasion, Sheikha bint Yousuf Al Farsi, Deputy CEO – Operations, Bank Muscat, expressed her delight with this collaboration with the Office of the Governor of Musandam, noting that it reflects the Bank’s strategy to serve the nation—whether by delivering banking services to all parts of the Sultanate, implementing annual social responsibility programmes, or entering into strategic partnerships that embody the importance of cooperation to achieve common goals. She added: “We are pleased with
the invitation from the Office of the Governor of Musandam to be part of making this year’s Winter Season a success through the planned activities and events that showcase the governorate’s rich history. This partnership also provides an opportunity for institutional collaboration and to reinforce the efforts led by the Governor’s Office and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in supporting Musandam’s tourism sector.

With its rich geography and diverse natural and cultural landmarks, Musandam deserves greater
attention as a key destination on both the regional and international tourism maps,
which in turn will positively impact the economy and local community.”

Al Farsi extended her appreciation to all officials at the Office of the Governor of Musandam for their
collaboration, expressing confidence that this year’s season will achieve remarkable success,
following in the footsteps of the previous three editions.

Musandam is renowned for its diverse tourism experiences that blend adventure tourism such as climbing, hiking, and zip-lining, with cultural tourism that allows visitors to explore the governorate’s rich heritage through archaeological sites, historical landmarks, museums, traditional crafts, and cultural festivals.

In addition, the governorate offers vibrant recreational tourism activities, including carnivals, as well as
marine tourism experiences such as dolphin-watching, diving among thriving coral
reefs, fishing trips, kayaking, and camping.

Bank Muscat places strong emphasis on community engagement through its support of various national and social initiatives, recognizing its pioneering role as a leading financial institution that contributes to comprehensive development.

The Bank is keen to maintain a strong presence across the Sultanate’s governorates and wilayats through
initiatives focused on youth and sports, education, entrepreneurship, health, and the environment, as well as through its continuous efforts to promote financial inclusion by providing accessible banking services tailored to all segments of society.

In Musandam specifically, two sports teams from the governorate have been awarded support under Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme—Kumzar Sports Team in Wilayat Khasab, which received support in the natural turf category, and Musandam Sports team which was supported with artificial turf.

In line with its commitment to sustainable development and leadership in social responsibility, the Bank also inaugurated earlier this year the first community sports project in Kumzar village in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of Musandam, as part of ongoing efforts to develop sports infrastructure in different regions of Oman.

Furthermore, Bank Muscat continues to expand its banking network to ensure access to its services for the largest possible number of customers across the Sultanate, including Musandam. Currently, the Bank operates two branches in the governorate—in Wilayat Dibba and Wilayat Khasab—in addition to eight ATMs, CDMs, and multi-use machines across the region. This network expansion reflects the Bank’s strong commitment to bringing modern banking services closer to citizens and residents, thereby supporting
the economic and social development journey of the Sultanate of Oman.
