Muscat – The agreements, signed in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada), represent a total investment of over RO 8.2 million and cover a combined area of 7 million square meters.
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the ‘Home and Building Expo’ focusing on Architecture and Urban Planning at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

A total of 21 usufruct contracts were signed with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the industrial sector, with projects covering more than 11,000 square meters and representing an investment of RO 1.2 million. These projects span a wide range of activities including vehicle repair, aluminium and carpentry workshops, building materials warehouses, soil testing labs, boat and marine unit maintenance, blacksmithing workshops, and modern laundries. The contracts are distributed across the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Wusta, Al Dhahirah, and Al Dakhiliyah.
In the agricultural sector, 11 contracts were signed across North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Dakhiliyah, with a total area exceeding 1,400 acres and an investment value of RO 5.7 million. Projects include organic farming, meat and fodder production, fruit and natural oil cultivation, ostrich breeding, and the development of nutritional supplements and natural herbs, among others.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning highlighted that these contracts are part of a broader strategy to empower entrepreneurs and SME owners by providing them with viable investment opportunities. These initiatives aim to enhance economic diversification, support food security, and stimulate local job creation in sectors crucial to the Sultanate’s sustainable development.
The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Eng. Hamad bin Ali Al Nazwani, Undersecretary for Housing at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, and His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary for Agriculture at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, along with a number of investors and entrepreneurs.
