Muscat – His Excellency Sayyid Badr held a telephone conversation with His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the call, His Excellency extended the Sultanate of Oman’s sincere congratulations to the Arab Republic of Egypt on the election of Dr. Khaled El-Enany as Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), marking him as the first Arab to assume this prominent international position. He affirmed that this achievement reflects Egypt’s distinguished scientific and cultural stature, as well as its pioneering role in promoting dialogue, peace, and the values of tolerance and mutual understanding among nations.
For his part, His Excellency the Egyptian Minister expressed his profound appreciation to the Sultanate of Oman for its support of the Egyptian candidate. He praised Oman’s principled and steadfast positions in support of Egypt across various regional and international platforms and underscored the deep-rooted and fraternal ties between the two brotherly nations.
