MUSCAT : The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) attributed the uptick largely to strong non-oil sector performance.

According to preliminary data, non-oil activities expanded by 4 percent, reaching RO 7.06 billion in Q2 2025, up from RO 6.79 billion in the same quarter of 2024.

Breaking down sector performance, agriculture and fishing posted the sharpest rise at 9.8 percent, contributing RO 310.3 million. Service activities also recorded solid growth of 7 percent, totaling RO 4.85 billion. Industrial activities, however, contracted by 3.7 percent, dropping to RO 1.89 billion.

Meanwhile, petroleum activities declined 4.4 percent, recording RO 3.52 billion versus RO 3.68 billion last year. The dip was driven by a 12.7 percent slump in crude oil activities, which fell to RO 2.71 billion. Natural gas activities soared by 40.7 percent, reaching RO 803.6 million compared to RO 570.9 million in Q2 2024.
