NEW YORK — U.S. President Donald Trump has given Hamas until Sunday evening to accept his 20-point proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza, warning of devastating consequences if the militant group rejects the plan.

The Republican leader unveiled the ultimatum on his Truth Social platform on Friday, describing Hamas as a “ruthless and violent threat” and vowing that peace would be imposed “one way or the other.”

Trump said an agreement must be reached by 6 p.m. U.S. Eastern time (22:00 GMT) on Sunday, or Gaza would face “all hell, like no one has ever seen before.”

Critics argue the initiative, presented last month to Arab and Muslim leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, focuses on redeveloping Gaza but falls short of addressing Palestinian sovereignty.
