MUSCAT : The iconic Al-Sahwa Tower, one of Muscat’s most recognizable landmarks, has completed 40 years since its inauguration, standing as a timeless symbol of Oman’s modern renaissance.
Constructed in 1985 during the early years of His Majesty the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s leadership, the tower was designed to reflect the spirit of national unity, progress, and cultural identity. Located at the Al-Sahwa roundabout, a central intersection connecting the capital’s main highways, the tower has become a reference point for residents and visitors alike.
Over the past four decades, the structure has not only been admired for its architectural significance but also cherished as a monument that represents the collective memory of the homeland. Its intricate mosaics and towering presence serve as a reminder of the nation’s journey of transformation under Oman’s renaissance era.
