MUSCAT – The initiative, led by the Labour Inspection Department at the Directorate General of Labour Welfare, aimed to enforce compliance with the Labour Law and its Executive Regulation (No. 1/2011).
A total of 166 offices were inspected during the campaign. Legal action has been taken against those found operating in violation of regulatory requirements.
The Ministry stresses that institutions and companies engaged in this activity must obtain an operating license in accordance with the requirements of the Executive Regulation, to avoid legal accountability as stipulated in Articles 31 and 143 of the Labour Law.
The Ministry further urges citizens and residents to ensure that recruitment offices are duly licensed by the Ministry, and to report any violations through the electronic reporting system.
