Muscat – Preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that this growth was largely driven by a 3.8 percent increase in the added value of non-oil activities, which rose to RO 6.86 billion, up from RO 6.61 billion in the same quarter of 2024.


Among the economic sectors, agriculture and fishing activities recorded the highest growth at 12.5 percent, reaching RO 307.4 million, compared to RO 273.3 million in the same period last year. Industrial activities showed a slight increase of 0.2 percent, contributing RO 1.97 billion, up from RO 1.96 billion. Meanwhile, service activities saw a growth of 4.9 percent with their total contribution rising to RO 4.58 billion, compared to RO 4.37 billion in the second quarter of 2024.

Oil activities registered a marginal increase of 0.5 percent, reaching RO 2.98 billion in the second quarter of 2025, compared to RO 2.96 billion in the same quarter of 2024. Crude oil production rose by 0.9 percent, contributing RO 2.49 billion, up from RO 2.47 billion. In contrast, natural gas activity recorded a 1.5 percent decline, with its contribution falling to RO 482.6 million, compared to RO 489.9 million a year earlier.
